The spectacular Riverdance 25th Anniversary Show is back at the Gaiety Theatre. Each summer the show partners with a charity for its summer run. This year the show’s charity partner for this summer’s run is AsIAm – Ireland’s National Autism Charity.

The main event of the partnership takes place on 29th June when a 12-hour Riverdanceathon will take place in front of the Gaiety Theatre. Funds raised will go to AsIAm. More than 600 dancers from 26 dance schools across Ireland will take part in the Riverdanceathon. Four of the dance schools are run by ex-Riverdancers.

Members of the Riverdance cast also join in to start the event at 10am and again at lunchtime (1pm) to perform 3 numbers from the show on the Gaiety Plaza as well as bringing it all to an end that evening.  Riverdancers are also there throughout the day to encourage and work with younger dancers.  The team are delighted that among those taking part on the day will be two autistic dancers.

Also that evening some dance enthusiasts from the AsIAm network will have a chance to take part in the show, training with the troupe and joining the finale of that evening’s performance.
