Aoife Casey- Deputy Autism Friendly University Award Coordinator

Aoife’s background is in social care where she worked with autistic adults with intellectual disabilities. She got her Hons degree from IT Tallaght. Previous to that she worked as an SNA supporting autistic children. She then went to Maynooth University and did a HDip in Further Education. Next she completed her masters in Adult and Community Education focusing my thesis on autistic women in post compulsory education. She has been working as an adult education teacher and learning support teacher for the past 2 years and still is part time in addition to her role with AsIAm. She is mother to an autistic child which is where her drive for working and studying in the area of autism stems from. In her spare time she loves to read, sea swim and is a coach and mentor for the Stingers inclusive rugby team at BRFC.
