Michael O’Flanagan- Community Support Manager

Michael Joined the AsIAm team in October 2018, taking up the role as Community Support Officer. In November 2020, Michael took on the role as Head of Community Support overseeing AsIAm’s casework, advocacy, policy endeavours and website content.

Michael is a lover of running and in 2018 co-founded Ireland’s first 5k Run for Autism, an event now in its third year.

Michael is currently studying for his Barrister at Law Degree at King’s Inns with the hope of specialising in Education, Disability and Human Rights law.

He is the proud big brother Gavin, who is autistic. It is Gavin who is the inspiration behind Michael working with the autism community.

Before AsIAm Michael worked as the Press, Policy and Research Officer with the Irish SME Association and with European Movement Ireland.

Outside of AsIAm, Michael’s interests include running, dogs and all things History. He is the owner of one very boisterous Golden Retriever (Cooper, also known as Coop).
