The behaviour of people with Autism can seem difficult and can be tiring and draining, especially if you are unfamiliar with the condition and do not know why a person is behaving in a particular way.
A good first step is making a list of the different behaviours or difficulties for the person, try to determine what causes these behaviours and how best to deal with them. If you do not want to raise the issue directly perhaps you can find answers by attending a local autism support group meeting, attending one of AsIAm’s community support webinars, or contacting checking our FAQ section.
Below you will find more detailed advice and information for family members of autistic people.
