AsIAm, as one of 32 projects funded by the Irish Human Rights Equality Commission Grant Scheme (2022/2023) is delighted to partner with Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Sligo to carry out research into the experiences of autistic school aged children/young people in our education system.
This research has two strands, the first is the below survey which will explore recent experiences of autistic school aged children/young people enrolled in a primary, secondary, or special school settings from the perspective of their parent/guardian. The second element of this research will involve researchers directly hearing from a number of young autistic school aged young people speak of their experience of school as young autistic people. This second part of the research will take place at a later stage.
