Adult Support: Transitions Peer Support

September 14 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

We understand that for autistic adults who have just turned 18 or who are facing a time of change in their lives, anxiety can be high. Many autistic adults feel a significant sense of isolation after turning 18, when previous support they may have accessed is no longer available to them. To offer support during this time, the Adult Support and Wellbeing Programme is currently setting up a Transitions Peer Support Group.

The Transitions Peer Support Group will be a small group of autistic adults who are facing a time of change. Our aims for this group are that by connecting young autistic adults with one another, they can offer each other support and a safe space to express their concerns and talk about their experiences in a non-judgmental environment.

The group will be coordinated by a trained facilitator, Debra Crawly. Debra is both an autistic adult and a parent of autistic children and has extensive experience in supporting young autistic people in accessing further education.
