
AsIAm is delighted to announce the launch of our community support series for 2020 in association with SuperValu.
‘Autism and Communication’ is the focus of our January to March seminars. Lisa-Ann Roche, a specialist in this topic, will feature as the keynote speaker for these events.
With over twelve years of experience as a speech and language therapist, Lisa-Ann has worked in a variety of roles. These include as part of an Early Intervention Team (0-5 years) and a School Age Team (5-18 years) along with running her own private practice for the past 9 years, with a special interest in autism. he is trained in the diagnostic assessments of the ADOS-2 and ADI-r and therapeutic approaches such as DIR Floortime Model-Greenspan Approach. She is trained in PECS and is a LAMH tutor.
Alongside Lisa-Ann, we will be including members of the autism community to share their own experiences around communication with audiences. We will try to follow up with a question and answer session afterwards, pending time.
This seminar will focus on practical tips for supporting communication skills, including using visual supports and developing communication strategies. It will also cover ideas on developing social skills and being a clear, consistent communication partner.
