In AsIAm’s next installment in our Community Support webinar series, we will focus on Masking. In an attempt to integrate with their neurotypical peers, autistic people may feel pressured to conceal or ‘mask’ their autistic traits. This can have effects on autistic mental health and executive fucntioning.
To discuss masking, we are joined by guest speaker Amy Pearson. Pearson is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sunderland and an autistic researcher. Her work focuses on understanding the impact of interpersonal victimisation among autistic people, and the relationship between autistic identity, stigma and masking.
