AsIAm is proud to announce the launch of the second year of the Autism Friendly Schools Project, after a successful run of last year’s pilot project, which saw participation from 96 schools across the Republic of Ireland. This project will be taking on applications from new primary and post-primary schools to participate in Year 1 of the project, these places will be distributed on a first come-first served basis. Schools who participated in the project last year have been contacted separately and offered a place in Year 2 of the project, to continue their engagement alongside the new participants.
We are hosting Session 1 of the Autism Friendly Schools Project 2020/2021 on Thursday 26th November @ 15:00 on Zoom Webinar. This session will be an introduction to the project and explore the theme of Student Wellbeing during Covid-19. During this session we will showcase some of the schools’ work from the project last year and provide details about the two further sessions in this year’s project, as well as answer any participants’ questions. We will also have an internationally renowned guest speaker, Peter Vermeulen, lecturer, author and co-director of Autism Central. Peter will discuss the double curriculum for autistic students and specific challenges faced by autistic students and their schools due to Covid-19.
Applications are now closed this year, if you have any inquiries with relation to your application please email firstname.lastname@example.org
