SuperValu Maynooth and Kilcock are hiring two part-time Store Assistants. These roles are open to applicants aged 18 and over.

Availability
3 to 4 morning and afternoon shifts per week, Monday to Sunday

About the Role
As a Store Assistant, you will help customers, support the day-to-day running of the store and complete a range of practical retail tasks. Training will be provided before working independently, with clear instructions and support from managers and team members.
What You Will Do
- Greet and assist customers politely
- Operate the cash register and handle payments
- Restock shelves and check product displays
- Check dates on products and rotate stock correctly
- Keep aisles, shelves and work areas clean and tidy
- Assist customers in finding products
- Support deliveries and unpack stock
- Follow food safety and health and safety procedures

- Autism Shopping Day at SuperValu Maynooth and Kilcock takes place every Wednesday from 10am to 9pm/10pm, with no background noise
- Standing and walking for long periods
- Lifting light to medium stock items
- Clear routines and structured tasks
- Indoor retail environment with regular customer interaction

Pay and Benefits
- Hourly rate in line with the National Minimum Wage, applied according to the successful applicant’s age category: 18, 19, or 20+

How to Apply
Eligibility and Employment Support Initiative
These roles are being created by SuperValu with support from AsIAm and the Department of Social Protection as part of an employment support initiative aimed at supporting unemployed Autistic jobseekers into meaningful employment.
Applicants must identify as Autistic and, if successful in securing the role, be able to provide confirmation of diagnosis from a qualified professional, or evidence of receipt of Disability Allowance. This documentation will be required to confirm eligibility for the Department of Social Protection employment support scheme in which SuperValu participates.
Successful applicants will complete a short paid trial period to help ensure the role is suitable and supportive of their needs. Following a successful trial period, a contract of employment will be offered.
