Training Manager

AsIAm is Ireland’s National Autism Charity based in Blackrock, Co. Dublin.  AsIAm is a fast paced, growing organisation with a vision to create a society where every autistic person is accepted “as they are” – equal, valued, and respected.  The organisation’s purpose is to advocate for an inclusive society for autistic people that is accessible, accepted and affirming.  AsIAm works to support the Autistic community and our families to fully engage in Irish life and build the capacity of society to facilitate true inclusion.

The Role:

AsIAm is a growing and fast paced organisation and is now looking to recruit a dynamic and innovative Training Manager.  The Training Manager will report directly to the Deputy CEO and Head of Training & Accreditation and will oversee the organisation’s training and development programmes nationwide.  The Training Manager will be responsible for managing a team of up to five officers/coordinators. The goal is to deliver relevant and appropriate training programmes for the autism community through various businesses and organisations in the private and public sectors.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in autism related issues in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Oversee the management and delivery of AsIAm’s training programmes

·       Lead the development, execution, and performance of appropriate training programmes for the autism community

·       Work closely with the Deputy CEO and Head of Training & Accreditation to implement the training programme objectives in the organisation’s strategic plan

·       Increase revenue through the promotion of AsIAm’s training and advisory services in public and private sectors

·       Develop and deliver training in line with AsIAm’s Training & Accreditation programmes

·       Ensure all training continues as self-funding

·       Work with the team and individually to maintain existing partnerships while also developing new connections

·       Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and in particular maintain the highest level of communication and collaboration with partner organisations

·       Manage the delivery of all projects in a timely manner and on budget

·       In conjunction with the team implement a process to identify, communicate, and mitigate any potential issues and concerns

·       Manage the team and their individual programmes, delegating tasks and activities to ensure optimal performance of the entire team

·       Put in place clear goals and objectives for team members

·       Support and supervise individual team members ensuring that regular and consistent supervisions and appraisals are provided, in line with organisational policies and procedures

·       Ensure team members have access to the training and supports required to effectively fulfil their responsibilities

·       Manage and support team members working remotely

Key Requirements:

Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities Required

·       Extensive knowledge of autism and autism related issues

·       Proven track record of training delivery and public speaking

·       Extensive knowledge of disability rights and accessibility issues relating to autism.

·       In-depth understanding of accreditation processes

·       Experience in developing accreditation and training materials

·       Experience in designing and implementing accreditation processes

·       Previous management / people management experience

·       Proven track record in project management and delivery

·       Ability to measure impact and implement quality control procedures

·       Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, team building, and networking abilities

·       A good understanding of budget management

·       Strong computer literacy

·        Full driving licence

Other requirements relevant to the role but not essential are:-

·       Analytical and report writing skills

·       Relevant academic qualification

We are looking for an individual with the above traits who is motivated to provide excellent leadership to the Training team and to become an integral support to the overall management AsIAm team.

Contract Duration

This is a full time and permanent role.

Salary & Benefits

Salary will align with Grade V as set out in the HSE Consolidated Pay Grades

Location / Working Hours

The role is based in AsIAm’s head office in Blackrock, Dublin and is Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with a requirement for travel for training.

The role holder is required to have a degree of flexibility with regard to working hours with the expectation of evening and weekend work due to the nature of the events.
