According to AsIAm's Same Chance Report 2025, the most significant barrier to inclusion for Autistic people is the public's lack of understanding about communication differences.

In light of this, AsIAm are delighted to partner with Microsoft Dream Space to host a free Lunch & Learn session on the topic of Autism – Separating Fact from Fiction.

Introduced by AsIAm CEO Adam Harris and co-hosted by AsIAm Training Manager Caitlin Cruise and Microsoft's Michael Barrett, this session will tackle common myths and misconceptions, focusing on:

• Increasing understanding of what Autism is, and the barriers that exist in society.
• Challenging myths with evidence-based facts.
• Exploring inclusive practices for workplace environments.
• Developing practical strategies for effective support in both everyday and professional settings.

This Lunch & Learn is taking place as a special part of the Autism Europe International Congress 2025, which AsIAm is proud to host in Dublin this September. As Ireland's Autism charity, AsIAm is committed to ensuring every Autistic person is accepted "as they are" — equal, valued, and respected. This event provides a chance for everyone to learn more about inclusion and to understand the real-life barriers that Autistic people face in society.
