Halloween for All

This October, AsIAm is delighted to partner with Today FM to make this Halloween the most inclusive one yet. While a time of fun and excitement for many, the sensory experiences and social expectations of Halloween can be challenging for Autistic individuals. Every year, thousands of children and young people across Ireland go trick-or-treating around their local community. Unfortunately, many Autistic children and young people don’t go (although many may want to), because they or their family member know they won’t feel safe or included. Together, we are sharing resources and promoting understanding to ensure that every trick-or-treater can enjoy the festivities in a safe, comfortable, and welcoming way. Small changes in every home in Ireland can make the biggest difference. Today FM will be sending out information packs to guide listeners on how best to host an accessible and inclusive Halloween party and how they can have an accessible and inclusive home on October 31st. This Halloween, let’s celebrate with kindness, patience, and understanding. Together, we can make Halloween more inclusive for Autistic individuals and families. You will be be able to apply for information packs on this page in the coming weeks so keep an ear out on Today FM for when the form goes live!
