Over the past month Department of Social Protection have published a Green Paper and later ‘strawman proposal’ which looks at possible reforms to social protection payments made to people with disabilities and carers. This is part of a wider commitment to reform our social protection system made by the Department within the Programme for Government. In order to better understand the thoughts of the Autistic Community regarding this proposal, AsIAm has prepared a survey. This survey is aimed at Autistic people, their families and carers. The questions discuss social protection payments, employment status and Surveys can be filled out on behalf of another Autistic person if necessary, but this must be specified.
