Dream Space Live! Building More Inclusive Schools Together

Building More Inclusive Schools Together

Join the Dream Space team in collaboration with AsIAm for a special World Autism Month event designed for upper primary and lower secondary classes. Together, we will explore how we can make schools more inclusive for all students, with a focus on understanding, acceptance and meaningful change.

In this Dream Space LIVE session, students will challenge common misconceptions, explore real-world ideas for inclusion and take part in simple activities that highlight how we can better support the Autistic community in Ireland. Using MakeCode for micro:bit, students will also create a simple coding project linked to communication, self-expression or regulation, showing how technology can support inclusion in thoughtful and practical ways.

Learning objectives:

  • Develop a clearer understanding of Autism as a different way of thinking, feeling and experiencing the world
  • Challenge common myths and misconceptions about Autism through discussion and interactive activities
  • Identify practical ways to make schools more inclusive, respectful and welcoming for all students
  • Use a simple MakeCode for micro:bit project to explore how technology can support communication, self-expression or regulation
