AsIAm meets with with Ministers Hildegarde Naughton and Michael Moynihan

AsIAm yesterday met with Ministers Hildegarde Naughton and Michael Moynihan to discuss the critical importance of SNA support for Autistic children. During the meeting, we highlighted the need to place children and families at the centre of all policy decisions and stressed the urgent need for clearer communication from the Department.

We also urged both Ministers to update the 2014 circular to better reflect the support needs of Autistic children and to review the overall package of supports available to Autistic students in the classroom.

The Ministers have requested detailed submissions on this issue, and we will continue to keep the community informed and engaged as this work progresses.
