Shauna Young

'Shauna joined AsIAm in February 2026 as Administrative officer. Having been diagnosed as autistic in 2020, her experiences prior and post diagnosis have helped to shape her motivation to support others as much as possible. She attended UCD for both her Bachelor's degree and her Masters, graduating with a degree in English and Sociology and later a Masters in Sociology, with her research focusing on military families in Ireland with autistic children, having come from that background herself and hoping to bring to light the need for resources and supports. Shauna strives to promote neuro-affirmative working environments through care and consideration for those utilising the space, while also ensuring that everyone feels welcome and safe in every environment they enter to the best of her ability
